Pond Life Lamp Shades 2011

Laser-cut felt lamp shades with graphics based on lily pads and lotus flowers. A thick felt which doesn’t allow the passage of light is cut to reveal a thin brightly coloured felt within. This thinner felt allows some light to shine through the cut felt highlighting the images. The two contrasting felts, exposed seams reminiscent of upholstery and bold graphics create a striking object whether the lamp is turned on or off.

The lamp shades were originally designed to complement the “Lily Chairs” at their launch at the Tent London exhibition 2011 but form beautiful and unusual objects in their own right.

The lamp shades have a diameter of 350mm and height of 250mm.
