Tabley Not-Drawer 2009

A coffee table made from a drawer found 30 seconds from my door. The main structure of the table was constructed using found wood and timber bought from Glasgow Wood Recycling. I experimented with balsa wood on the interior of the table, I liked the interesting way light was reflected depending on the orientation of the grain. A room was stencilled on the inside of the drawer to mirror a possible surrounding environment. The glass top looking into the storage space means the aesthetic of the table changes as storage is used.
